Sudoku
Sudoku is a number placement puzzle game based on logic rather than mathematics. It challenges the ability of my reflection and logical mind. Despite seemingly impossibility, the puzzle can be solved through persevering effort and imperturbable approach.
Effective goals
Goal setting is depending on individual involved and must be challenging, realistic and attainable. Achieving goals is predicated upon motivation. To set a slight difficulty of goal will drive you to be severe with yourself and make you strive for success, whereas extreme difficulty may wipe your wills out.
A Goal has to be specific and measurable. It gives you direction; tells you what needs to be accomplished. Goal increases effort, persistence and the quality of performance so that you would know what to work toward, when you have finished and achieved your preset goal. If there is no clear way to tell, you would not know when to stop.
Any usable and performable goal must have a clear timeframe of when it should start and when it should end. Without a timeframe associated with a goal, it is practically impossible to say if the goal is reached or not. A deadline creates a sense of importance, which leads to greater dedication and persistence towards your goal.
Positive goal directs what to do rather than what not to do, whereas negative goal directs your attention to the errors you wish to avoid or eliminate, and it brings you the vague hopes. Positive goal requires you to decide how you will reach those specific goals. Once the goal is firm, you must determine specific strategies and techniques which allow that goal to be successfully attained.
Why assessments and examinations are essential to learners?
Assessments and examinations are significantly important to, and are the integral part of a formal education system. They are the paths for learners to evaluate or to be appraised the knowledge, cognition and comprehension of their learning. Through the assessments or examinations, learners are aware of areas of growth and areas that need definite enhancement.
Learning without assessments or examinations is just like making a futile effort. Learners are not able to perceive how far their learning can go and have no notion of what extent they could reach. Writing a computer programming is a very appropriate analogy. Imagine that you are coding a computer program without carrying out the run-time testing and debugging, a stark fact is that you would never know the hidden errors that might give you erroneous output result. Hence, you are thwarted in your learning to go higher level.
Assessments and examinations are not merely the pipeline for appraisal of academic learning; they are imperceptibly conducive to strengthening confidence and determined attitude. They enable learners to find and nurture more effective way of learning, rather than learn toughly but in vain.
