什么是RSS

RSS的优点

RSS的英文全称是Really Simple Syndication，是一种透过XML(eXtensible Markup Language)特性所制定的格式，让网站的管理者可以把网页内容传给订阅户。这是个有点像电子报和新闻群组(Newsgroup)的东西，但是赋予读者更大的自订能力和更丰富的资料。

将RSS技术应用在获取来源端的即时讯息是一个很重要的演进，对於使用者也可以很清楚的知道这些新闻是从何而来，以及这些资讯是否对自己是有用的。以下是RSS发展的优点：

1. 即时性(Timely)：
   对於RSS的订阅者而言，可以最快的得到最新讯息以及头条新闻。而不用被动式的去每个网站上去搜索。 
2. 具有成本效益(Cost-effective)： 
   在传输和发送的成本减少是很巨大的。如对於新闻邮件的发送提供者不需要花费太多的金费，对每个订阅者来寄信散拨讯息。  
3. 统一的标准：
   RSS有其一定的标准定义的，有提供RSS的网站都依循此标准，不但可以方便解读以及管理。 
4. RSS可整合在电子邮件： 
   透过RSS等软体可以将拿到的RSS讯息完美的转换成你的电子邮件的格式。这也意味着订阅者会依照自己的偏好来订阅，并且也可避免电子邮件的垃圾信和病毒。 
5. 隐私性和安全性： 
   对於订阅者而言，并不需要提供自己的电子信箱；而发行者并不能利用电子邮件重复不断的寄广告信或是垃圾信件。RSS代表着不能不正当地使用网路来作为广播媒体传送相同的讯息给大量未要求传送讯息的使用者的人，对於订阅者而言是另外一种的安全以及隐私。

RSS 要怎么使用？

RSS只是一个格式，使用者想要订阅各网站所提供的内容还需要一个阅读器(Reader)，而目前网路可以找到的桌面RSS Reader大概可以分为几种，一种是不需要微软的.NET Framework runtime version 1.0，一种需要，还有一种是其他程式的外挂套件。

如何订阅RSS资讯？  

1. 安装 微软 .NET Framework 
2. 下载免费的RSS阅读软体
   SharpReader 0.9.5.1 免费 (推荐，较简单)
   RssReader 1.0.91.0 beta 免费 
3. 安装您所下载的RSS阅读软体  
4. 选择您所要订阅的内容。当您浏览某网站时，看到或，又或者是的图标则表示该网站有提供RSS的订阅，您可以点击它，然后将其弹跳出来的网址拷贝至您安装在电脑上的RSS Reader即可订阅。

What is RSS

RSS (Really Simple Syndication)  is a popular technology employed by websites and weblogs to push headlines and summaries of content directly to users. Also known as web feeds, it saves the user from having to make daily trips to numerous websites for fresh content that is of interest to him.

What tools do I need?

To start getting RSS feeds, you can either install a dedicated RSS reader on your computer or sign up with one of the numerous Web-based services. To get you on the fast track, we suggest you take a look at RSS Reader (.NET applications which require installation of Microsoft .NET Framework runtime) or the web-based Bloglines.

Each web feed will have its own URL which is usually embedded in the orange-coloured icon ( or  or ). To copy the link, right click on the icon and select “Copy Shortcut” (Internet Explorer) or “Copy Link Location” (Mozilla Firefox). Paste this information into the URL field of your RSS reader.

How to subscribe to RSS?

1. Download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 
2. Download and install FREE RSS Reader software:
   SharpReader 0.9.5.1 (User-Friendly)
   RssReader 1.0.91.0 beta (Recommended)
3. Choose the RSS Feed you wish to subscribe to:
   If you see any  or  or  icon on any web site, click on it to open a new window, copy the link from the address bar of your browser, and paste it into the URL field of your RSS Reader.
